CAT Programme

This class aims to guide students through the foundations of the subject and beyond.

CAT – Programme Structure

CAT programme is the Foundation programme for the ACCA.
CAT consists of  9 papers plus Foundations in Professionalism online module.

Diploma In Accounting & Business

Specialist Papers (Choose 2 only)
FAU         Foundations in Audit
FTX         Foundations in Taxation*
FFM        Foundations in Financial Managment

*FTX is offered in Malaysian variant


  • Bahasa Kebangsaan A*
  • Bahasa Malaysia Komunikasi 1 (International Students)
  • Cultural Studies
  • Pengajian Malaysia 1 (Malaysian Students)
  • English for Business

Bahasa Kebangsaan A is compulsory for all Malaysian students

  • without a credit in SPM Bahasa Malaysia
  • without SPM Bahasa Malaysia (applicable to students from UEC, O level, or other equivalent programmes)

CAT – Entry Requirement

1. SPM / GCE O Levels / equivalent

  • Minimum 5 Credits (5Cs) inclusive of Mathematics and English

2. Unified Examination Certificate (UEC)

  • Minimum 3 Credits (3Bs) inclusive of Mathematics and English

3. Other Year 11 qualification

  • Case by case, subject to evaluation by the School

English Requirement:-

Credit for SPM / 1119 / O-Level English; minimum score of Band 4 in MUET, Band 6 in IELTS, or a score of 213 (computer-based) or 79 (internet-based) or 550 (paper-based) in TOEFL.

Malaysian students who do not possess the English requirement stated above, will have to attempt and pass a compulsory English module concurrently in the first semester of CAT programme.

CAT – Career Opportunities

As a foundation course of ACCA, CAT provides specific and relevant accounting knowledge that is applicable in the business and accounting field.

The completion of CAT allows the students an option to pursue ACCA, or to work in accounting related industry, or both at the same time. It offers much flexibility.
