Foundations in Accountancy (FIA) is the Foundation programme for the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
FIA is a qualification with an international profile awarded by ACCA, designed to train students to be an accounting technician to meet the evolving needs of today and into the future.
It is a rigorous and flexible qualification that kick starts student’s higher education journey at the most relevant level through a range of Foundation-level awards made up of certificates and diplomas which provide the ideal starting point for anyone new to accounting and finance.
FIA covers the key areas of financial accounting and management accounting.
Course Structure
FIA consists of 7 papers plus Foundations in Professionalism online module.

Entry Requirement
1. SPM / O Levels
Minimum 5 Credits (5Cs) inclusive of Mathematics and English
2. Unified Examination Certificate (UEC)
Minimum 3 Credits (3Bs) inclusive of Mathematics and English
3. Other Year 11 qualification
Case by case, subject to evaluation by the School
English Requirement:-
Credit for SPM / 1119 / O-Level English; minimum score of Band 4 in MUET, Band 6 in IELTS, or a score of 213 (computer-based) or 79 (internet-based) or 550 (paper-based) in TOEFL.
Malaysian students who do not possess the English requirement stated above, will have to attempt and pass a compulsory English module concurrently in the first semester of FIA programme.
FIA – Career Opportunities
As a foundation course of ACCA, FIA provides specific and relevant accounting knowledge that is applicable in the business and accounting field.
The completion of FIA allows the students an option to pursue ACCA, or to work in accounting related industry, or both at the same time. It offers much flexibility.
